The blurred motion of the waves renders the sunset as an abstract arrangement of shapes, textures and colors while the clouds on the horizon supply an element of reality. The “rules of composition” say you shouldn’t place the horizon in the center of an image but in this case I like being a rebel.
Peoria at sunrise. This view is facing west so the sunrise was actually in the other direction. On this morning though the colors spread across the entire sky and the glow of the sunrise in the east is reflected off of the buildings and windows adding to the glow of the city lights. I particularly like the way the tree branches and clouds create a frame that leads you right down to the city.
